Educational Leadership

Rangsit College was opened in 1986, the project was led jointly by Dr Arthit and his father Prasit Ourairat. The college became a university in 1990 and was officially opened by H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

One notable feature was development of a variety of medical courses, with Rangsit University being the first private institution to train doctors in Thailand. Continuing to the current day, not only does Rangsit University offer medical pathways, but also the Satit Bilingual Schools also offer courses specifically designed to prepare students to study medicine at University.

He did not restrict himself to Thai education!

Significant links and a relationship with the Kingdom of Bhutan was recognised by the award of the Druk Thuksey from the King of Bhutan in 2015 with the citation:

“Dr. Arthit Ourairat 77, the President of Rangsit University is an exemplary citizen of Thailand and a longstanding friend of Bhutan. Over the years, he has made a significant difference i

n the lives of many Bhutanese people, particularly in the fields of education and health. Till date, 84 students have completed their education from Rangsit University, and 48 more are pursuing their education through scholarships offered in the University due to his goodwill.”

Following the establishment of Rangsit University, Dr Arthit and Prasit Ourairat’s next major educational project was the building of Dulwich International College, Phuket. In 2004 the decision was made to split with the Dulwich group and the school was renamed British International School, Phuket. Over the years two more school’s followed: Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University, in Bangkok and Satit International Bilingual School of Rangsit University, in Chiang Mai. Now in collaboration with his daughter, who has taken over day to day leadership of the schools, a fourth school is under construction in Bangkok.

It is important to Dr Arthit that each school is unique and offers significant benefits to the local community as well as excellent standards of internationally recognised education for the students.
